Q: How long does a jewelry 3D modeling project take?

Three to five days for a single piece. The grey model goes to you for approval before any metal or stones are applied, so the shape and the proportions are agreed while corrections are still cheap.

Q: Can you render a piece that has not been made yet?

Yes, and that is the point for most of our jewelry clients. CAD or a drawing with dimensions is enough. Brands use the renders to sell a collection, take pre-orders and test a design before paying for casting.

Q: Can we get the same ring in different metals and stones?

Yes. The model is built once and the metal changes from white to yellow to rose gold in an afternoon, the same for the centre stone. This is where 3D pays for itself, because every version would otherwise be a separate piece and a separate shoot.

Q: Do you deliver a 360 spin for the product page?

Yes. The same model exports as a spin sequence a customer can turn on the listing, which for a ring is the closest thing to picking it up. Files come in whatever resolution your shop needs.

Jewelry is the hardest category to photograph and the easiest to render. The object is small, the surfaces are mirrors, and the stones do things to light that a studio can only fight. In 3D all of that becomes a setting you dial in.

The details that make a jewelry render look real

At the size a buyer looks at a ring online, everything is a close-up, and every shortcut shows.

Stones. A faceted stone has to be cut in the model, not textured. That is where the fire comes from, and it is the difference between a diamond and a piece of glass.

Metal. Polished gold is a mirror, so what you see on it is the room. A render needs a room built for it, otherwise the metal comes out grey and dead.

Pave. Dozens of tiny stones, each set at its own angle. Copy one and rotate it and the whole surface starts to look printed.

Engraving and hallmarks. Modelled as relief, not painted on. At macro distance a flat engraving reads instantly as a sticker.

Scale. Nothing in a silo shot says how big the piece is. A hand, a fabric fold or a leaf in the scene answers the question a customer is quietly asking.

We ask for the stone list and the metal reference before anything else. Those two things decide most of the look.

The brief for a jewelry 3D modeling project

Four things, and the first two matter more than everything else.

The stone list: cut, size and colour of each stone, including the pave. This drives both the model and the quote.
The metal: white, yellow or rose gold, polished or matte, and any plating.
CAD if the piece was designed digitally. If not, drawings with dimensions, or clear photos of a sample from a few angles.
The shot list and any images you like, whether from your own catalogue or from someone else entirely.
